A Yeezy 500-as sneakerek megjelenésük idején elég formabontónak számítottak: nemcsak az adi-Prene talpszerkezet, de a mesh és a hasított bőr elemek merész kombinációja is messze kiemelte az átlag sneakerek sorából. Anyag- és színhasználatuk miatt kevésbé sportos hatást keltenek, így olyan outfitekhez is jól hordhatók, amikhez a nagyon technikai "sportcipős" sneakerek kevésbé passzolnának.
